Final Eleventh Essay
Final Reflection
Another school year has passed as summer draws closer, and I am content with what has transpired in the past year. It was a lot of work and I have spent more time on school work than in any previous years. This year also given me a hint at what my senior year and college will be like.
In short, I learned how to study; I learned this mainly through AP U.S. history. It was difficult understanding the text in a way that would help me understand it on the tests. Math and physics also posed large challenges this year because the tests were weighted so heavily. All of these classes led to an increase in studying that was outside of what class gave me. The concept that I learned on my own time from language arts is to repeatedly go over work: research essays, meaty paragraphs, and necessary homework. It was a different experience than previous years, and my junior year proved to be more stringent. Next year is going to be more challenging because of the AP and CE classes that I signed up for. This year is a glimpse of what next year is to be.
I was involved in three main things: service, tennis, and music. My time as the Junior class officer of the B.O.L.T.S. was a wonderful experience. Being an officer led me to be more involved in service and helped me become helpful to the local community. Tennis has always been a great experience for me. Even though the tennis season is spent under the scorching sun, I always love to play tennis and exercise a bit. I am mostly involved in music, and I recently received my second music letter. It took a lot of time to receive the music letter. I am involved in the pep band, pit orchestra, and Honor band. These activities took a lot of time to accomplish, but I believe it was worth it. I have improved on the oboe, english horn, and flute since the beginning of the year.
While my junior year has not been what I expected, it has proved to be useful. My classes and extracurricular activities have been fun and rewarding in different ways. I look forward to what my senior year will be, and I look forward to the challenge that it shall bring.
